How to stay safe while dating online

Money requests, off-app pressure, and fake photos. What Kindered will never ask you for — and what a scammer always will.

The most common scam in India on dating apps is slow warmth, then a story: customs fee, medical bill, crypto, a job that needs a small transfer. There is no exception. Kindered will never ask you to pay another member. Report and block.

Being rushed onto WhatsApp, Telegram, or Instagram is the other pattern. Off-app there is no report button and no record. Stay here until you have met once, or at least video-called.

Kindered does not allow nudity in profiles or messages. If someone sends sexual images anyway, report them. In some countries that is a crime. You do not have to reply.

Video-call before you meet if the profile feels off: too new, too glamorous, always travelling, always asking about money. A five-minute call filters a lot of stolen photos.

Meet in public. Arrange your own transport. Share your live location with a friend for the first hour. These are not paranoid; they are how adults treat strangers.

Your distance on Kindered is a wide band, not your address. Do not fill in the rest in chat (“I live behind the metro, third building”).

If someone might be under 18, report it as underage. That queue jumps. Do not try to handle it yourself.

Trust the feeling that something is too smooth. Romance fraud works because it feels like a film. Pause and ask a friend to read the chat.
