First messages that are not “hey”
What to write after you match. One line that refers to their profile beats a greeting that could have gone to anyone.
“Hey” is not a conversation. It is a test to see if they will do the work. Most people will not. The first message should prove you read the profile.
Pick one detail: something from their bio, a city, a hobby. “You said you ruin ambitious recipes — what was the last disaster?” is a question they can answer in thirty seconds. “You seem nice” is empty.
Do not open with your height, salary, or a compliment on their body. On Kindered that reads as a hookup app, and we are not one. Compliment a choice they made — a joke in their bio, the place they mentioned.
Keep it to two or three sentences. A speech on the first ping feels like pressure. You can be warm without being a novel.
If they mentioned a book, film, or neighbourhood, you are allowed to have an opinion. Disagreement is more interesting than “same.” Just do not start a lecture.
Voice notes and “what’s your Instagram” on message one are how scams start. Stay on Kindered until you have a reason to trust them. Nobody genuine needs your UPI or your WhatsApp in the first hour.
If you match and freeze, send the specific question anyway, even a day later. A late good message beats an instant empty one.
